Hi! My name is Flavya Reeves, and I am the Founder/President of Duckie’s Treasure Chest. Duckie's Treasure Chest is a non-profit organization developed in memory of my son, Jonathan Paul "Duckie" Monnet, Jr. Our goal is to educate, encourage, and empower youth ages 5-17 through mentorship and enrichment activities.
DTC strives to provide the Essentials for Childhood to each client. The Essentials for Childhood include steps to create safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments.
As a result of promoting safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments it can have a positive impact on a broad range of health problems as well as on the development of skills that will help children reach their full potential.
We offer Pet Therapy 1-2 times per month during group youth sessions. Pet therapy is a guided interaction between a person and a trained animal. It also involves the animal's handler. The purpose of pet therapy is to help someone recover from or cope with a health problem or mental disorder.
